Aim: The social, economic, and political realities of colonial-era Indian life are beautifully in Mulk Raj Anand’s book “The Coolie.” The book depicts the difficulties and setbacks that lower- caste coolies went through as a result of upper-caste society’s exploitation and marginalization. The lives of the coolies, who are required to work for inadequate remuneration and experience terrible living conditions, are used in the book to illustrate how class is represented. The author draws attention to the obvious differences between upper-class and lower-class lifestyles, as well as the strong stereotypes towards lower-caste communities that exist in Indian society. The book illustrates the resilience and determination of the coolies to fight against oppression via the characters of Munoo and his family. Mythology and Approach: The research investigates how Mulk Raj Anand illustrates the difficulties and complexities connected with distinct caste representation by probing into the characters experiences, struggles and interaction within their social environment. Outcomes: The study examines how Anand’s characters negotiate social duties and challenge the restrictions placed on them. Anand discusses the subject of caste and class inequalities in his works. Additionally, it examines how gender roles are portrayed; shedding light on the challenges faced by female characters as well as their aspirations for independence and self-expression. This research paper also explores the tension between tradition and modernity as characters battle with their cultural and religious identities. It examines the conflicts that exist between preserving cultural history and embracing a changing world, providing insights into the difficulties people have in recognizing their social identities. Conclusion and suggestion: Through this research, the aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how Anand’s The coolie illuminate the diverse social identities within Indian society. The
