Manuscript Submission Checklist

The SPL Journal of Literary Hermeneutics

To ensure a smooth review and publication process, authors are required to carefully follow the checklist below before submitting their manuscript. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned for revision or rejected.

Pre-Submission Requirements

1. Language and Quality

Ensure that the manuscript is free from grammatical, typographical, and syntactical errors. The paper must be written in clear academic English (preferably British English) with consistency in usage.

2. Use of Scholarly Sources

The manuscript should demonstrate strong engagement with existing scholarship, including:

  • 3–5 full-length paragraph quotations
  • 10–15 short quotations from relevant and credible academic sources

All quotations must be properly integrated and critically analysed.

3. Citation and Referencing (MLA 9th Edition)

Ensure that all in-text citations and references are:

  • Properly indicated
  • Consistently formatted
  • Supported with accurate page/line numbers

Authors must strictly follow the latest MLA (9th Edition) style guidelines.

4. Abstract Structure (250–300 Words)

The abstract must be clearly structured under the following headings:

  • Aims
  • Methodology and Approaches
  • Outcome
  • Conclusion and Suggestions
  • Keywords

5. Word Limit

The manuscript should be between 3000–5000 words, including abstract and references.

6. ORCID ID (Mandatory)

Authors must provide their ORCID ID at the time of submission.

7. Formatting Guidelines

Failure to follow formatting guidelines may result in delays or rejection.

8. Author Bio (150 Words)

A short author biography (approximately 150 words) must be included at the end of the manuscript, mentioning:

  • Name and designation
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Research interests and achievements

9. Copyright and Declaration Form

Authors must complete and submit the Copyright/Declaration Form:

Important Note

Authors are strongly advised to review all submission guidelines carefully before submission. Non-compliance with the above requirements may lead to:

  • Delayed review process
