Aim: The goal of this study is to examine Brechtian Dramaturgy in Indian dramas, particularly in context of Girish Karnad’s Hayavadana and Nagamandala.
Methodology and Approach: The research looks at how Bertolt Brecht's epic theatre is incorporated into the Indian context by Karnad, fusing Western theatrical methods with conventional Indian performance aesthetics.
Outcome: This study investigates how Karnad uses Brechtian theories to reflect the socio-cultural and political reality of India through a thorough analysis of the two plays.
Conclusion and Suggestion: This study sheds insight into the importance and efficacy of such adaptations in the context of Indian theatre by investigating the Indianization of Brechtian tactics.
